Our students have embraced our word and are working together on creating a proud, caring community of learners. We connected all classrooms through literature, by reading I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont, which reminded children to be proud of themselves just the way they are and to be proud of all they do, think, and feel. Our Brooks Bobcats have been showing their pride in their new classrooms, their lessons, and in the work they are doing. They show their leadership and school pride when they work with their buddy classrooms, assist with new students, and help out in the cafeteria and the library. Our Bobcats are #brooksproud!
The staff at Brooks is a truly dedicated team, working to support our students academic and social needs so they can achieve their personal best and are proud of their efforts. Our team of bus drivers, playground supervisors, para-educators, social workers, teachers, office staff, food service employees, custodial team, and everyone in between is always going above and beyond to make each day at Brooks a wonderful experience for our kids. Our staff is committed to collaborating with each other and advocating for our students’ needs. Our team is #brooksproud!
Thank you for being a part of our Brooks family! We are proud to partner with you to support your children and help them achieve their personal best. We our proud to be a part of the Huron Valley community and appreciate the commitment to our students at Brooks! #brooksproud!
As always, please feel free to reach out if you have questions or concerns. Here's to a wonderful year!

What I Need = WIN Time
In all of our classrooms again this year, we are using a research-based learning strategy called WIN time which stands for “What I Need.” The purpose of WIN time is to assist all students in learning at their own level, whether they need support or enrichment to challenge them.
During WIN, several members of our Brooks teams will be working with all the students in one grade level at the same time. Your child may be working with any of the following staff members: Classroom teacher, Para-educator, Teacher Consultant, Resource Room teacher, or Literacy Coach. Our intervention team will be working to ensure all the students are growing as learners.
Our groupings of students will be flexible and our activities will change to address the needs of the students. This support may engage students in word study, reading fluency, reading comprehension, writing strategies, and/or math skills.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or your child’s teacher.
