Red Wings Assembly
The Detroit Red Wings Foundation, Kroger, and MESP partnered to bring the Red Wings School Assembly Program to Brooks on Friday. The Red Wings School Assembly Program is floor hockey initiative that began in 2010 to introduce kids to the sport of hockey and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle. During each visit, the school assembly team opens the program with a lesson on education, determination, exercise and healthy eating tips, followed by a fun face-off between teachers and students during a hockey shootout competition. Each school receives two full sets of floor hockey equipment complete with hockey sticks and goalie nets courtesy of the Detroit Red Wings Foundation, as well as a Red Wings folder for each students. Be sure to ask your children about this exciting assembly today. Thanks to Mr. Wank for organizing this event.
Ms. Beach has Donor's Choose Project Funded
Congratulations to Ms. Beach for having her Donors Choose project fully funded. Her class will be receiving their "Fidgets for Success" very soon! Be sure to check out the DonorsChoose.org website for information on this project and future Brooks' projects.
Brooks Halloween Information
We will be celebrating Halloween on Monday, October 31. Our parade will be at 3:00 pm. Please refer to your classroom newsletters for classroom party times.
We want to have fun without too much fright this year at Brooks! We ask children and parents to choose a costume which does not frighten our younger students. This means no scary masks, weapons, blood, etc.
We are anticipating a happy and safe celebration and invite you to watch our parade!
Please note the following guidelines:
Parents are invited to come and watch our parade. If you choose to wear a costume, please follow the above guidelines as well, so as not to frighten young students.
The parade will weave its way through the school and outside along the front sidewalk and back blacktop. If the weather does not cooperate, we will lead our parade through the halls and gym.
Please remember teaching and learning will be going on in the classrooms until the parties begin.
