Brooks Big Show--#Brooksproud
The Big Show was a HUGE success! It was a wonderful night full of talent and entertainment. If you missed it, check out the grand finale HERE. Big thanks to the BPTO, Ms. Jakrewski, Mr. Burke, Mr. Wank, Mrs. Powers, Mrs. Adams, and Mrs. Hojnacki for planning and creating such a fun night for our students, families, and staff! #Brooksproud
Meet the Principals Event
We had a wonderful turnout last week to welcome the principals, staffs, and students of Lakewood, Oxbow, and Spring Mills Elementary Schools. Students and families were able to meet the principal, several staff members, and families from their future schools at this event. Students received a tag for their backpacks to represent both Brooks and their new schools.
This night was such a positive and comfortable way for our students to meet the principal, staff members, and families from their new school. They were able to hear all about the exciting things happening at the schools and to ask questions of interest to them. We will continue to work together to make this the smoothest transition possible for all of us. Please continue to let me know what questions or concerns you have. #Brooksproud

Fifth Grade Learning About Body Systems with Frogs
Our fifth grade students enjoyed some hands on experience learning about body systems while dissecting frogs in Mr. Burke's science class. Our young scientists were very involved and engaged in this project. They were eager to share their learning.
Blessings in a Backpack Fundraiser on March 25
Blessings in a Backpack has been supporting Brooks Bobcats for the past two years. This program is funded by the Huron Valley Optimist Club. We are excited to share the Blessings in the Backpack program will follow our students to Lakewood, Oxbow, and Spring Mills next year. All three schools will offer the program to all students who are eligible to receive weekend meals.
The Optimist Club works hard to raise funds to provide food over the weekend for students at Brooks, Highland, and Johnson this year. With the expansion of the program in the fall of 2017, they are hoping their biggest fundraiser will be a huge success. Consider supporting the Huron Valley Blessings in a Backpack program by attending "A Magical Night of Comedy" on Saturday, March 25. See the flyer below for more information.
